Banner for our Troops in Iraq

This is an American Flag banner that was at the 2009 Washington County Fair where people were encouraged to sign it or put a message on it. It was made by the local radio station AM1360 KUIK located at the Hillsboro Airport, and SignPro of Hillsboro, Oregon. When the fair was over, I was told after I added my message, it was to be sent over to our Oregon 41st Infantry Brigade in Iraq to put on display. It was an honor to say hello and wish well our Oregon National Guard Soldiers and those from several other states helping with the mission.

The Creek in Summer

The creeks slow to a trickle sometimes by mid summer at Tualatin Hills Nature Park. They still reflect the beauty of nature. This was taken in early August 2009.

This is a very busy squirrel we watched overhead working in a wild filbert (hazelnut) tree in the Tualatin Hills Nature Park. These squirrels were very acrobatic in their search for nuts. This was taken in July 2009.

This photo was taken at our place when Jim was up in Oregon for the Webfooters Postcard Club Show and Sale, April 2008. A fun time was had by all. I had given Jim a book on NW Craftsman Homes co-authored by one of our Webfooters, Glenn Mason. So he was happy about the book and seeing his nieces, Julie and Cecelia.

"Rusty" Staub

While bicycling in Beaverton on a sunny winter day in 2009 I found this ball of bolts art work on a stainless steel pedestal across the street from an auto parts store. I'm not sure what the ball represents, possibly the earth rusting away? Or could it be a tribute to Rusty Staub the famed baseball player? It looks like a spinning curve ball frozen for all time...well, till it rusts away anyway.
